About Me
👋 Hi, I’m Pritom Saha Akash, a fifth-year Ph.D. student and Graduate Research Assistant in Computer Science at UIUC, advised by Professor Kevin Chang. My research focuses on Natural Language Processing (NLP), with particular interests in Large Language Models (LLMs), Text Mining, and Recommender Systems. I also contribute to the eBay-UIUC collaboration project, where I work on advancing state-of-the-art recommender systems.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I have gained hands-on industry experience during the summers of 2023 and 2024. As a Research Scientist Intern at IBM Research, I worked on projects in Conversational AI, and at Amazon Science, I contributed to cutting-edge solutions in LLM-driven Product Search. I’m thrilled to continue this journey as an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon in the summer of 2025.
Before joining UIUC, I earned both my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Software Engineering from the Institute of Information Technology, University of Dhaka (IITDU). These formative years built my expertise in Software Engineering and Machine Learning, laying the groundwork for my current research endeavors.
